Showers to taper off as Andrea moves North

Live 5 Meteorologist Chad Watson has your Friday forecast:

Tropical Storm Andrea continues to move northeast along the I-95 corridor this morning. Winds have been gusting around 25-35mph for most areas. We did have early morning gusts above 40mph on the beaches. As Andrea heads through the Pee-Dee and into eastern North Carolina later this morning the showers will taper off and winds will turn from the west around 10-20mph. There still could be a few tree limbs down on area streets and it looks like power has been restored for most areas that were out as the sun came up. This afternoon highs should be able to rebound into the mid 80s and with some sunshine mixed in with clouds. We will also keep a chance of isolated storms redeveloping into the afternoon and early evening drive home.

***TROPICAL STORM WARNING***
***FLASH FLOOD WATCH***

Tropical Storm Andrea continues to move toward the northeast Florida coast this afternoon. The outer rain bands will continue to move into the Lowcountry this afternoon. Rain and wind will increase tonight as the forecast path brings the center of Tropical Storm Andrea directly over top of eastern South Carolina. We still expect area wide rain totals of 3-5" with isolated higher amounts. Winds will gust over 35-45mph and that could cause some isolated power outages overnight. There is also a risk of short-lived tornadoes after midnight into the early morning hours. We will have complete updates here on-line and on the air all evening and all night as the storm approaches.

Concerned citizen puts up money to find suspects in violent home invasion

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC)- A concerned citizen has put up an additional $500 in a reward to find information in a home invasion that happened earlier this year at a house in Georgetown County.

Officials with Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry announced on Wednesday that a citizen donated an additional $500 to the reward for information leading to the arrests of the suspects.

On Jan. 27, authorities say three men, who were posing as police officers, broke into a home on 22288 Choppee Road in the Hemingway area.

According to investigators, during the incident, the suspects demanded money and guns, and took money and other property. Two of the residents were assaulted, and one had to be airlifted to a hospital.

Authorities say the suspects wore black hoodies, black skullies, and had the word "Security" written on some of their clothing. The suspects' vehicle was possibly a tan GMC Envoy which was last seen heading towards Georgetown.
