Lowcountry families receive holiday food baskets from SCE&G
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A number of SCE&G employees and retirees spent their Tuesday giving the gift of food to families who are struggling to make ends meet.
Volunteers packed 250 baskets of food Tuesday morning at Charleston Gas Operations Center. The food was then shipped to low-income families in seven counties, including Charleston, Dorchester, Colleton, Beaufort, Jasper, Orangeburg and Hampton.
The holiday gift-giving is part of SCE&G's employee-funded Good Neighbor Fund Christmas Project.
Toys will also be given to families with children under the age of 15.
