National Walking Day set for Wednesday

National Walking Day set for Wednesday

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Lowcountry residents are encouraged to join hundreds of thousands across the nation in taking a 30-minute walk on Wednesday to improve heart health.

Wednesday, April 3 is National Walking Day, and The American Heart Association, MUSC Health, and The InterTech Group is getting in on the action. They are asking the public to take 30 minutes of their day to take a brisk walk.

Experts say adults need at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week, but less than 50-percent of adults hit that number.
