Two children, one adult struck by car in Georgetown Co., troopers say | News
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC)-South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after a man's car blew a tire and struck an adult and two children, along with a parked vehicle, in Georgetown County on Wednesday.
Senior Trooper Bridget Wyant said the wreck happened on Jerusalem Drive in Hemingway around 5:10 p.m. A 42-year-old man was driving east when a tire on his 1995 Buick suddenly deflated, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
Wyant said the man drove off the roadway, then overcorrected before exiting the roadway in the opposite direction. The Buick struck a parked vehicle on private property and then struck three pedestrians on the property before overturning and coming to a stop, troopers said.
The adult injured in the accident was airlifted to Grand Strand Hospital for treatment. One of the minors injured was taken to the Georgetown Hospital emergency room by EMS. A family member took the second minor to the emergency room.
The collision is still under investigation. No charges have been filed.
