Developers will soon start working on a pier and new marina in South Island Plantation, a neighborhood with nearly 200 homes.

According to the Georgetown Times, the $500,000 pier will be about 1,000-feet long.

The city hopes the investment signifies a turn-around in Georgetown's housing market.
