GEORGETOWN COUNTY (WCSC) - Lieutenant Glover with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office visited the Plantersville Community Center last Thursday to speak about the benefits of Project Lifesaver.
The Project Lifesaver program places personalized radio transmitters on identified persons who may wander away from the safety of their homes. These individuals can be from the elderly to the youngest in our community who may be afflicted with Alzheimer’s, Down syndrome, Autism or developmental disorders.
Funding for Project Lifesaver is through private and corporate donations and grants. The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office employs 14 deputies trained in Project Lifesaver.
